Caeris

Caeris is the city formed by the dragonborn after the draconic wars. The King was quick to extend an offer to the seemingly now free minded dragonborn though there was a lot of push back on accepting what was once an enemy into the Union so readily.
Caeris as a city has a centralized commercial and industrial area to it with the septs, communal groups of dragonborn, spread out over several miles surrounding the central area.
The septs built up clear and defined areas for them to raise and nurture for their collective young. Stepping into a sept without permission is a crime that carries a severe punishment, assuming you live through the protective efforts of the dragonborn adults of the sept. Thankfully each sept as a fair amount of defenses to it so that it is something that can't be done accidentally. There are little to no commercial businesses in the sept areas.
The center of Caeris has a great many shops and stores to it. Dragonborn are not natural sailors so the harbor is less built up than one would expect of a city this size with most of the work being done by outside sources. They are however the best artisans of items harvested from dragons on the continent. The armor, weapons, and potions created by the dragonborn are of a quality unrivaled by anyone.
Roughly 25 years after the founding of the city the dragonborn began to lose their initial colors, dark shadowy black along with many gem like colors, and shifted to the colors of chromatic and metallic dragons. While this had no impact on their personalities it did create a rift and eventual quick civil war amongst the dragonborn and led to the founding of Unsol by the chromatic colored dragons across the river.

Demographics

Almost entirely dragonborn.  Center Caeris does have some racial variety but it is the least diverse of all the capital cities.

Government

Each recognized sept has a representative on the city's council.  Though it is famous for being in constant gridlock with nothing of note happening.
