Silverflame Consortium

The Silverflame Consortium is a guild sworn to the preservation and distribution of knowledge in Prosi. Based in , the Consortium takes its name after the Silverflame, a large brazier containing an everburning, argent flame found in the reception hall of their headquarters. The artifact represents the guild's dedication to 'never allow the flame of knowledge to extinguish.' Founded 400 years ago by , The Consortium is primarily concerned with the exploration of ruins, cataloguing magical items, recording the history of Prosi and its cultures, and sharing that knowledge freely. The guild's agents, called Seekers, are encouraged to join adventuring parties, offer their services to other organizations and companies, and teach others where possible - bringing the light of the Silverflame with them to spread knowledge and wisdom across Prosi. The Consortium's headquarters in boasts the largest library on Prosi, and all but the most dangerous and forbidden volumes are freely accessible to the public. Apprentice Seekers are available to assist any curious patrons with comprehending archaic lore and answering any questions the visitor might have; or, in the case that the Apprentice Seeker isn't familiar with the topic, bringing the patron along on the journey of discovery and research. In this way, Apprentice Seekers are exposed to knowledge and ideas that they may not seek out by their own interests. - Seekers in the field are given missions and informed of potential sites or items of interest through outposts located throughout Prosi. These outposts are typically small, but uniformly feature libraries and secure vaults for any items of interest. Urgent missions are sent via magical communications, such as the Animal Messenger or Sending spells. The Silverflame Consortium is widely known as an organization that purchases magical items and artifacts for a fair price. The guild also offers identification and appraisal services, and keeps records of ownership and authenticity for those who are interested in the trade of magical items.

Structure

The Silverflame Consortium is a multi-faceted organization that breaks down into the following groups Advocates - patrons and wealthy benefactors who receive an honorary membership Sparks - young / new members of the Consortium that have begun training and haven't declared for Seekers or Flamekeepers yet Apprentice Seekers - members in the process of training to become Seekers Seekers - field agents for the Consortium, tasked with discovering/recovering/transporting magical items, exploring ruins, and serving other organizations as archaeological/arcane advisors Flamekeepers - members of the Consortium who tend to the Headquarters and outposts, manage libraries, facilitate trades, and keep/verify/update records. The Hearth Council - a council of four veteran Flamekeepers who, along with the Elder Flamekeeper, lead the Consortium Elder Flamekeeper - a member of the Hearth Council entrusted with voting last, providing a deciding vote between split decisions.
