Revolution
The River Market riots occurred between protestors and city guardsmen, as well as civilian Pactkeepers, after a misunderstanding grew heated, and fighting broke out. The Pactkeeper council sent in all district guardsmen with the orders to stop the violence by any means necessary. The brutal response left seven dead and the city shocked into silence.
The River Market riot sprang out of the near-ceasless protests in the River Market District , when an angry protester shoved one of the Market guards. The guard retaliated, setting of a chain-reaction through the market area. Soon the central area was embroiled in fighting: protesters vs. guards or anyone they could identify as a Pactkeepers. The Pactkeeper families moved swiftly, sending in guards from all districts to quell the riot with any force neccessary. Curfews were also imposed for the next few days, and laws regarding gatherings in the market were further tightened. The sheer brutality of the response, which left seven dead and scores more wounded, shocked the city into silence once more, for a time.
