The King's Cobras

Tozvarin will not tolerate disobedience from his citizens, and takes a firm stance against lawbreakers. No crime goes unpunished in Qisar, and mercy is all but unknown. To this end, the former god instituted a group called the King's Cobras, who are his premier law enforcement unit. While the city guard in each city does the bulk of the enforcing of laws, the Cobras are there to show an iron fist in the capital city of Verdiir, or wherever Tozvarin decides to send them, should the need arise. None want to find themselves face to face with any member of the Cobras, and so the citizens give them a wide berth. Their reputation for uncompromising cruelty is well known, and it takes a very confident, or perhaps foolish, criminal to set up shop in Verdiir.

Structure

After Tozvarin, the Cobras answer to their captain, who has total charge of their day to day activities. The king trusts the captain to carry out what is needed, and only interjects when there is something in particular that he wants to be investigated or dealt with. The captain has two sergeants who are next in line to him, each holding some sway over half of the force. They are a staunchly loyal and obedient force, and Tozvarin trusts them almost completely.

Culture

The Cobras are expected to exemplify the law at all times, with strict obedience to their king and their agency. It is quite common for each member to be as strict in their personal life as they are with their job, and all have vowed to put their king above all, including their families.

Public Agenda

The King's Cobras are their simply to enforce the law. It is rare that they involve themselves in the more petty crimes, instead focusing on crimes against the wealthy as well as crimes such as murder.
