Quarterstaff of Ki Wave
Staff (quarterstaff), very rare (requires attunement by a monk)
This simple wooden staff lacks adornment and is unassuming in appearance. When held by a monk, though it is capable of helping focus your ki and release it in new ways.
While holding this staff, you gain +1 to your Ki save DC.
This staff has 7 charges. While holding it, you can use an action to expend 1 of its charges to release a Ki Wave that sweeps out from you in one of three ways:
Cube: Holding the quarterstaff vertically and slamming the end downward into the ground while releasing the energy creates a 15-foot cube originating from you.
Cone: Swinging the quarterstaff horizontally in front of you while releasing the energy creates a 15-foot cone originating from you.
Line: Chopping downward with the quarterstaff to strike the ground in front of you while releasing the energy creates a 20-foot line originating from you.
Any creature within the area of effect must make a Constitution saving throw, using your monk's Ki save DC as outlined in the Monk class description. On a failed save, a
creature takes force damage equal to 2 of your current martial arts dice and is pushed 10 feet away from you. On a successful save, the creature takes half as much damage and isn't pushed.
In addition, unsecured objects that are completely within the area of effect are automatically pushed 10 feet away from you by the effect.
The staff regains 1d6 + 1 expended charges daily at dawn. If you expend the last charge, roll a d20. On a 1, the staff becomes a normal quarterstaff.
