The nomadic Xholx fight the Lighst for control of what they believe to be a desert spring. They lose, miserably.

The Xholx and Lighst battled over what they both believed to be a desert spring, unfortunately, it was merely a puddle— which evaporated by the end of the fighting. The Xholx were defeated, and seven of their women warriors taken as tribute— while the rest were told to never return to Lighst lands.
