Ancient Civilization - The Shondae
Race: Shondae (Ancient Veldalkin)
Language: Shondae
Very little is known of the true origins and history of the Shondae. Based on artwork and relics found the shondae seem to pre-date all modern civilizations. Artwork found depicts them as four-armed Veldalkins. In fact their language seems to be a variation of the language spoken by modern Veldalkins. Though it's different enough that it often can not be read or understood without the aid of magic. The Shondae appear to have been in possession of extremely advanced technology and it is believed that indeed they were a highly advanced civilization. Common knowledge says that the Shondae experienced a major cataclysm that caused their civilization to be wiped out. Shondae buildings and bits of technology can still be found throughout the world. Scholars debate whether this is because they occupied much of the world or if it's just debris from a few floating cities. On the one hand many of the structures that have been discovered look like they were originally constructed in the places they've been found. On the other hand, how could a single cataclysm wipe out an entire civilization if it was as prolific as the remaining structures suggest? No one has yet come up with a theory that solves these contradictions.
