Thariel Talwyn
Elven philosopher from Behemith and follower of Azuth (symbol, finger pointing up). Thariel studied religion and philosophy at Archeus Academy, where he posited that the gods possessed their children with a collective hidden knowledge, incomplete for any one person, but theoretically able to be assembled from the minds of every humanoid on Quoth. Over the years he did research in networks of detect thoughts, but found that spell success correlated negatively with participants. Only vague images and ideas were collected from this study. After largely inconclusive trials, and several disagreements between Thariel and his peers, the research was discontinued, and he left the school (743 rf), taking on a hermetic lifestyle in the Southern Nescius forest. Thariel was through with the ignorant opinions of others, and had enough data to work alone. For a while he lived peacefully, taking on a biologist-like documentor hobby. Something about Thariel's research took us somewhere he shouldn't have gone. He starting having nightmares which unraveled just about everything, he thought he knew.
