Old Zaubrin

Old Zaubrin is now a dead language. It was the ancient language of Therana, who now mostly use it for antiquated carvings and mottos.

Geographical Distribution

Old Zaubrin was spoken mostly in Therana, though its usage has spread somewhat to the vampire caves and even out West to the Guilds.

Phonology

Most sounds in Old Zaubrin mirror those of Latin, though a few appear in Slavic and Germanic languages such as Polish and German.

Morphology

The majority of the language's morphemes can be found in roots, e.g. stabil- stability, pax- peace, thus stabilipax meaning stability and peace, or stable peace.

Syntax

Verbs and objects, even subjects can occasionally be merged together, depending on style or circumstance. Generally the language follows Subject-Verb-Object order, though this can sometimes change.
