Freeholder

Lowest imperial rank of nobility. This is not a hereditary title. Normally this title is given to non-empire citizens as a reward for proving his or her worth to the Empire. Is only able to be given by a rank of Baron or higher. Cost is 1 point of honor for the bestower of the rank. This rank is not allowed inside the outer walls of Imperial cities.

Requirements

Tithe of 50 gold per year for this rank.

Appointment

A person must have a sponsor that is of the rank of Baron/Baroness or higher. The Baron/Baroness gives the person one point of honor and then the newly appointed Freeholder must preform a ceremony of fealty to the Count/Countess or Duke/Duchess of the sector that the Freeholder resides.

Duties

The Freeholder is expect to act in the best interest of the Empire and prove the worth of the Freeholder to gain additional benefits of the Empire.

Form of Address

Lady/Gentleman of for non-Empire citizens, not required. Freeholder and last name for Empire Citizens.
