Nihlis

The Dread-Emperor, The betrayer, Master of Destruction, Keeper of The Black Tome

God of Lichdom and Undeath. Long ago during The Age of Ascendency, Nihlis served as The Emperor of The Lost Empire. Through the study of dark magics he unlocked many powers that went against The Greater Order. He lead his empire to conquer all of Rūne, and once that was done they turned to the other realms. 
His brutality was legendary and none could manage to stand against him. During his time he cultivated and nourished many ambitious wizards and Sorcerers, guiding them to develop powerful automatons, floating cities, and ultimately to achieve his dark plans.
By the time the gods chose to directly intervene in The Dread-Emperor's schemes it was too late. Through many hidden laboratories he had managed to create a ritual that allowed him to ascend to god-hood. In doing so it is believed he managed to kill several gods, claiming much of their power before The Gods of The Greater Order managed to seal him away into The Realms of Dread. Even though he is sealed away, some have managed to commune with The Master of Destruction.
