Dragonborn

Born of dragons in the mythic age, the dragonborn have a rich an ancient history and can be found throughout the lands of Prima Terra. Standing tall, these scaled humanoids are capable of breathing elemental magic and are considered proud, pensive, and strong.

A Lost History

The Dragonborn did not always live in the cold. Once, they were the inhabitants of the great deserts of Sargon. During the mythic age, this vast desert was more temperate and savannah like. It was into this paradise the Dragonborn were forged. Created by the dragons to aid them in waging the 1000 year war between the chromatic and metallic dragons. During this millennia spanning conflict the Dragonborn were the foot soldiers of the Dragons. It was only after the carnage and the unification of the Dragonlands into a single state that the Dragonborn rose above the shackles of serfdom.
They still served the Dragons during this time but found themselves able to build vast cities and monuments to their own glory. They took on a joint worship of both Tiamat and Bahamut in unision, as a religious symbol for the unification of their land. This time of kings and dragons could never last, and their empire had fallen by the first age. Diseases spreading from the north and the gradual desertification of the Sargonic planes led to famine and mass deaths. Internal revolt followed, and their vast and noble empire imploded.

Dragonborn of the Crag

The Dragonborn of the Crag came to settle this desolate region at the guidance of 10 great Dragon warlords representing one of each variation. Their long march saw them raid the Dwarven kingdom of Drohan, sacking their capital city and taking the loot with them to their new home. Since then, the Dragonborn of the Crag have lived in disunified city states. They have briefly warred with not just each other but also their elven and dwarven neighbours but generally keeping to themselves. They are most known as capable sailors and hunters, trading fish, walrus, and mammoth meat across Prima Terra.

Dragonborn of the Dragon Empire

During the Exodus, some Dragonborn boarded their great warships and sailed east to search for new lands. They eventually landed on the coast of Zhoson, the great eastern continent. Here they conquered the disparate kingdoms of humans, genasi, and Aarakockra and forged a mighty empire. This Empire has lasted since then, occasionally fragmenting between dynasties but never falling completely. These Dragonborn have recently returned to Prima Terra under the guise of seeking new trading opportunities. Some suggest they are acting as shadow brokers, seeking to conquer the west and restore their ancient homeland. They are eyed with some suspicion, but their advanced technology and dedication to manners, honour, and diplomacy have done nothing but earn them friends and allies so far.
