The Spirit Tree

The Spirit Tree is a religious icon to the town of Nirano. They hold funerals there, and pray to their deities and ancestors as well. It is a massive weeping willow, whose branches extend to the ground, and river. They put bodies on the river on small raft, and make sure the body is carressed by the branches of the tree as it flows down the river into the afterlife.
Unbeknownst to most the people of Nirano, but the bodies also end up allowing fish to prosper for much of the Avellan River south of their town, as well as Avellan Lake
