Ceaterran Green Ore when first mined has the general appearance of a lump of rocks with dark green and sometimes almost turquoise-like veins running alongside it. Because of the location of the ore in the ground of swamp regions, it's usually of a darker color. Most of the lumps of stone that surround the main part of the mineral are really porous and can easily break apart giving way to the precious ore inside.

The ore that is extracted from the ground before processing is really porous, the mineral itself inside the rocky shell though is generally harder to break.

The metal that can be produced from the ore is frequently used in combination with well-known metals like steel. The best weapons are produced use a combination of Genesis steel and Green Steel, but those cost a fortune since both the ores used to create said Steels are rare and expensive.

The Ceaterran Ore can only be found in the Swamp region in the north-Western part of the Ceaterran Empire. Most of the mining has to be done in underground caves, since the ore starts to appear shortly after the groundwater level. To this day the ore couldn't be found in any other region, baffling many scientist and magic users alike because the ore also doesn't seem to have a magical origin, making it's limitation to that specific area very weird. Even in other swamp regions in different countries the ore couldn't be found.

Lebensdauer & Verfall

The ore without the rock supporting it deteriorates within two weeks in an oxygen-rich atmosphere. Therefore fast processing is needed, which resulted in smiths moving near the swamp area, forming big industrial cities. Once it is properly processed the produced steel lasts for potentially hundreds of years given that it's not hit by magic designed to destroy metals.

In 296 PL the Ceaterran Green Ore in the North-western swamp region was discovered for the first time. But so was the deadly disease West Swamp Fever , making the region almost uninhabitable and causing many deaths to the people who tried to mine the ore after discovering it's worth in the production of arms.
In 539 the cure for the West Swamp Fever was discovered in form of a plant indigenous to the region as well, the Violet Nightshade. The discovery of the plant made the trade in the Ceaterran Empire flourish since the other countries felt the need to obtain this metal in any way possible for it's great properties. It also caused the rise of several cities near the area that became famous for their industrial sectors, where most of the ore is processed into weapons and armor. The possession of this ore also helped the Ceaterran Empire in cementing alliances with the neighboring countries.

Entdeckung

It was first discovered in 296 PL by citizens looking into making the swamp region inhabitable. Though mining it in large amounts wasn't possible until 539 PL because of the West Swamp Fever .

Alltägliche Nutzung

It's used in a lot of more expensive weapons and armor because of it enables a strong flexibility in the weapons as well as making them more resistent towards the elements and strong impacts. But the processing and the limited number of ore extracted, makes it a rarer component mostly used in the state's equipment or bought by people with a lot of money.

Industrielle Nutzung

The ore is first processed by melting it and extracting impurities before it can be either mixed with Steel or Genesis Steel for a strong alloy. It can also be used by itself for weapons or armor.

Verarbeitung und Veredelung

Since the ore is most often covered in a layer of stone or dust it needs to be cleaned first. This is relatively easy due to the stone in the swamp region being rather porous. Additionally the ore needs to be smelted before it can be properly used, the melting temperature of the ore is 1540 °C.

Verteilung

Handel

The Green Ore is mostly sold in it's processed form as steel by the Ceaterran Empire to the surrounding countries. Because of it's limitation to the swamp region, the metal is rather rare and expensive.

Lagerung

The ore deteriorates in an oxygen-rich environment if it isn't properly processed, but the procedure is slow and only starts showing notable signs after two weeks. Due to the fact that the cities, where the ore is processed are really close to the area there is no need for special kinds of storage.

Gesetze & Regulierungen

The Ceaterran Empire passed a law shortly after they could mine the ore in larger amounts, that the distribution in it's unprocessed state as ore is forbidden.
