Deadhill

Introduction

One of the remnants of civilization on the continent of Westlend, Deadhill is the first of only three Depots on the continent. The people here have become isolationists under the constant threat of the Elemental Cabals but under their harsh and scarred exteriors is a deep respect for honor and community.

Dangerous West

Those that chose to make Deadhill their home only have one purpose in mind: to become rich off the unpilfered ruins that cover Westlend. Several industries have grown around the various scrap, loot, and scavenge that is brought into Deadhill by those daring enough to seek it out. Much of what is scavenged cannot be used by the Depot itself, and is instead sold to merchants on the Last Engine in exchange for fuel, food, and firearms.

What's in a Name

As is often recounted by the locals of Deadhill, the name of the Depot comes from the tragic loss of Saint Martin. History states that the Angel of Laws claimed the large hill found at the region's center in the name of the Keeper's Pantheon.
Unfortunately for the Saint, he was unceremoniously crushed by a large boulder thrown from a nearby Earth Elemental that did not respect his claims. After the divine mess was cleaned up, the area was named Deadhill.

It was, in fact, the hill he wanted to die on. (I'm so sorry I couldn't resist the joke)
