Introduction to Ravarus

Ravarus

Teeming with life and overflowing with earthly resources, it is no question why Ravarus is called the Realm of Abundance. So powerful is the combination of Life and Earth that Ravarus was purposefully seperated from the rest of the Cosmos, locked away to thrive alone so that it would not be raided for its many bounties.
Despite the care taken to protect the Realm, Ravarus has been invaded by exotoric forces dozens of times. However, it is has proven far more difficult to leave the Realm than to enter it. This has earned Ravarus the less common title of Realm of Lost Souls as much of its sophontic population can be traced back to exoteric roots.

Endless Ocean

One of the core issues with Ravarus is its largest body of water, the Endless Ocean. Through the actions of an unknown force this ocean cannot be traversed by normal means. Ships that brave its great waves are either lost or returned to its original shores in a shattered mess. Only the First Men, Humanities ancestors, seemingly learned how to truly travel the Endless Ocean.

Solith

Found at the center of the Realm and many campaign narratives, Solith is filled with diverse life both Sophontic and not. With an abundance of material resources and powerful sources of Primal and Glow, Solith has been the birthplace of many empires but also the cause of their destruction. When even the most desolate of regions can field an army, holding territory is a harrowing affair.
Luckily for the rest of Ravarus, it seems that the pull of the Endless Ocean is centered on Solith making it impossible for these grand empires to ever escape. The continent is both a cradle and a grave for those that step foot on its soil.

Themes

Conspiracy

Along Ravarus' smudged and jarring history, a myriad of questions lay unanswered. To meet those questions, wizened men and scholars have drafted their own designs on what has transpired in the past. Adventurous souls or curious researchers dive deep into lost ruins and historic sites, dragging out horrid secrets that aught to have been left buried, and even the Divines work to bury their pasts. And yet everything connects back to the First Men, in mind boggling ways.

High Fantasy

Ravarus is a realm filled with magic and wonder, from the multitude of Beastfolk, to the strangeness of the Timbergrown. Sophonts of all kinds walk it's surface and dig in it's depths, wielding the devastating forces of magic as if it would not and could not be their undoing. Extraordinary oddities shape the land, from the terrifying First Men Towers, to the blessed Runic Runegates of Tennant, and the perilous madness of the Wyld.

Consequences

All live under the watchful gaze of the fickle Divines, and their wrath is not to be trifled. Speaking the wrong way with the wrong names invites doom upon those who dare, so mortals have taken to utilizing titles and false names when speaking ill of others. While the ruins of old and the riches of archeology may tempt many to go out and seek their fortunes in adventure, Damnation and Death lie in wait for the foolish and unsuspecting. Many lives have been lost trying to expunge the dark from the lands or seek glory in the unknown.

Eldavar

Ancestral home of the Eld before their journey to Los'Mozakas, Eldavar is a vibrant continent coated in exotic flora and fauna. It is understood by scholars of Solith that it was dominated by several Cabals of Life Elementals rather than proper sophontic life.

Helt

Taking from the teachings of the earth, Helt is a land of organization and control. They have mastered the use of using the earth as both a tool and a weapon. There remains only one Divine over Helt and it rules with an iron fist.

Lozakas

Taking on the predatory aspect of Life, Lozakas is a continent of ancient beasts and fallen civilizations. Though many have tried, no city has been able to claim permanent hold on Lozakas many of them falling to the native flora or the supposed spirits of the first empire.

Mordoth

Home of the First Men, Mordoth is a continent of craggy hills, large wastelands, and a distinct lack of Glow. While the First Men claim it to be a land of prosperity, other sources claim that the land was stripped bare by their engines of war.
