Railbound

Introduction

As Hallus becomes increasingly more hostile to its natives, many communities are forced to abandon their homes in the hope of finding somewhere sustainable. It is not uncommon for those same communities to find themselves boarding the Last Engine. Once aboard the divine train, where there is both food and water in abundance, many come to the conclusion that the Last Engine may be their only chance of long-term survival.

Price of Boarding

It costs nothing monetary to board the Last Engine but that does not mean it is free. Those that board the train consent to their Faith being fed to the The Last Engine's Engine. Furthermore, a strict hierarchy is upheld aboard the Last Engine based on dedication to the Lord of the Rails. Those who give themselves to the Exarch completely find themselves further towards the front of the train, where the quality of life is increasingly opulent, while those in defiance find themselves at the rear where survival often requires great sacrifice.

Author's Notes

Yes, this is based off the fantastic graphic novel, Snowpiercer. The TV series is drastically better than the film and everyone should watch it to understand the importance of community and power of unionization.

I don't know about you, but if the train was giving me food and a good life, I think I would be more devoted to it. XD
