The Ever Watchful Mother's Eye
Description
This opaque grey-yellow orb is slightly slimy to the touch but rigid as a stone. It has swirling patterns that are quite enthralling to look at. Upon closer inspection, the person holding the item must save against Will DC18. If she fails, she inspects it so closely that the stone orb activates itself and spins thin tendrils of grey matter into the eyes of the person. In a very painful, but extremely quick process, the orb envelops the person’s original eye and covers it with its own slimy, harder, and grey-yellow surface. This process causes 1d6 points of damage.Drawbacks
- The person “wearing” this item has a permanent -1 to her Perception (sight) rolls due to the confusing nature of her new vision.
- The person has a -1 to her ranged attack rolls for the same reason.
- The weird eye tends to cause repulse from others. The character’s effective Charisma is lowered by 1 point as well. The person can wear an eye-patch to avoid the effective Charisma loss, but their perception and ranged attacks are still reduced by 1.
Known Powers
- The Eye confers the ability to see in any form of darkness, including magical darkness up to 60ft (clear up to 30ft., less clear above that). It is an undulating and misty view of the world, as the person is mostly seeing its Ethereal counterpart, mostly colourless, but she can navigate and act normally unless the place isn’t properly formed in the Ethereal world. Any kind of spell that would negate viewing into the Ethereal or an invisible Ethereal creature renders this power useless. This power only works if there's no light source hindering its use.
