The Eternal Heart

Made with a combination of divine and necrotic energies, the Eternal Heart artifact dates back before the creation of the Guilds, and was made by an unknown artisan. It is thought that it was a gift created for an ancient god, and it was meant to be a symbol of his eternal life and the power of his presence and protection. Left behind in one of his abandoned temples, protected by traps and puzzles, it is believed to be the force that has kept the temple in perfect preservation for centuries.
While artwork has been found depicting, what is currently believed to be, the artifact, no one has been reported to see it since the creation of the Guilds. The sources that have been found, depict a diamond heart, which is enfolded by obsidian dragon wings. The artifact is believed to be hidden in a secret level of the temple of Illuminating Light. The location of the temple itself has been only recently discovered, and has been revealed to only a select few, so the temple itself can be preserved. It is reported though that the temple is surrounded by a underground river of magma, believed to be another layer of security for either the artifact or the temple itself.
While no accurate or reliable information can be found on the Eternal Heart, myths suggest that anyone who possesses the heart, possesses immortality. As such, it is a much treasured and sought after magical object. It is also believed that if part of the artifact is used in a potion or medical tincture that any and all aliments would be healed. Of course there is no way to verify this information without the Eternal Heart itself.
