Champion
In the pages of the Guildpact rests a clause that grants each of the Ten Guilds the ability to recognize heroes, individuals within their own ranks that excel at every turn or that embody the ideals of the group completely. These Champions, as they came to be called, would become endowed with power from the Guildpact whenever they acted in its interest; a more limited form of the Guildmaster's connection with the pact.
Champions are capable of feats beyond their race and skill. Tibor and Lumia, the husband and wife Izzet League Champion Duo once repelled and leviathan class nightmare creature by tracing the sky with enough radiant energy to mimic a real world sunrise. Ruric Thar, the two-headed ogre-warchief Champion of the Gruul Clans was reported to have stopped a charging train with his bare hands. The list of horrifying feats continues across the board, but one thing is recognized amongst all citizens: Champions are not to be messed with.
Scholars believe this roll is not only to bolster the moral of the Guilds, but also to serve as a failsafe in case the Guildmaster ever fell or became corrupted. With the ancient pact currently shattered, it is unclear if Champions still retain their mythic power.
