Celerite

Physical & Chemical Properties

When celerite is near anything that bares any decay, it starts to turn to ash. Weapons made of, or embellished, with celerite damages creatures and items of rot with ease. Armor made of, or embellished, with celerite offers more protection against creatures and items of rot with ease. Celerite cannot be magically induced to rot or break apart.

History & Usage

Everyday use

Celerite is utilized commonly in the outer planes of the multiverse to protect structures from creatures of decay. In outer planes aligned with the powers of good craft the celerite into weapons and give them to mortals and benevolent creatures alike that wage war against the undead and creatures of decay.

Hazards

Celerite can be dangerous to creatures that are undead by nature. In addition, if the individual is suffering from a disease that causes necrosis the diseased flesh starts to turn to ash casuing immense pain.

Environmental Impact

Celerite doesn't affect the environment at first, but once the surrounding foliage or creatures start to die and decay the celerite will turn them to ash in an instant. This causes scavangers to either mirgate or starve. Foliage starts to die off due to the break in the natural cycle of life and death that feeds the land.

Distribution

Trade & Market

Celerite is traded in Sigil as an exotic material by esoteric merchants. It's uncommon for it to be bought due to Sigil being a completely neutral territory so there was no need to protect themselves against undead creatures.
