Drinking of Teleblut's Blood

"We gather around our new warriors and have survived the trials. What you see before you are no longer children. They are no longer your little hunter or your little matron. They are now true Blood Belchers. They will claim the blessings of Teleblut and drink his blood. Drink the blood and join our ranks. Blessings of Teleblut upon you all."   ~ Matron Umong, High Priestess of Teleblut

History

The first observation of this ritual was in year 250 during the Age of Renewal. After spending some time with the Blood Belchers the celebration of age came. All the birthdays in the clan seem to be celebrated at the same time, but it was noted a few were separated from the celebrations and having runes carved into their skin.

Participants

The master of the ceremony is the High Priest/Priestess of Teleblut. They over watch the trials and dispose of the bodies of those who fail the trials. At the end of the trials the High Priest/Priestess is the one that presents the goblets with Teleblut's blood to the survivors.   The members of the Blood Belchers that reach he age of 12 are presented to the High Priest/Priestess to become true warriors of the clan. After they complete the trials and accept the blood of Teleblut they start their lives as warriors of the Blood Belchers.   Proven Blood Belcher warriors ritually scar those who succeed in the Trials of Teleblut marking them for their positions in the clan.   Those whom are not of age or are to elderly to participate in the ritual assist the High Priest/Priestess in their duties during the ritual and assist in feeding the clan.

Observance

The rites are observed during the first blood moon of the rainy season in the Verdant Jungle.
