Spiked Desert
"You have to be kidding me? The Spiked Desert really? You have to be insane to think that we'll be traveling through that. If I wanted to get a bunch of tiny cuts, get sweat in them, and be uncomfortable the entire time I would have stayed at home."

Ecosystem Cycles
The Spiked Desert doesn't have a predictable seasonal pattern. Due to its location close to Uta'gosh the weather patterns are heavily influenced by the Cloud Giants and Sea Giants. During times of peace between the giants there’s about one to two rainstorms every year. During times of conflict that increases the activity of Cloud Giant and Sea Giant magics there can be three storms a month. This sudden change in weather pattern can cause severe flash floods that not only harms those that live in the desert but the surrounding area as well.
Localized Phenomena
The Spiked Deserts sand is unlike any desert in the primal planes. The sand is intermixed with fine particals of glass. What causes the glass to appear is unclear, but it is theorized that the veil between the primal plane of earth and fire is thin in this area causing their energies to mix and manifest into glass. This theory is the basis for explaining why the Spiked Desert has spread as rapidly as it has and still continues to spread deeper into Skiplia and Estriegia.
Climate
The Spiked Deserts average temperature is 86 degrees Fahrenheit with the peak temperature reaching 117 degrees Fahrenheit during the summer months. During the night the temperature can drop to as low as 25 degrees Fahrenheit. The climate is dry with occasional rain.
Fauna & Flora
Cactus, agave, and quiver trees are common in the Spiked Desert. Cactus that grow here have thicker stalks than the average cactus of its species. The most common animal in the spiked desert are horned vipers, hyena, scorpions, and silverbills.
