The Cahoikans of Today

After the events of the burying of the Piasa, the Cahoikans lost their home in Realm-R. Most of the peoples are living in the plains next to Lakamha, but some smaller groups have moved into the forest and beyond.
Although the people of Cahoika are safe and well today, there is still a lingering 'we've failed' that sits upon their shoulders. The fact that the Piasa under their guard tried to steal away a Traveller and threaten them for getting back to Earth, and the resulting fight that caused not only the death of the Lakamhaan King's wife, some of the Cahoikans, but the right to guard their dragon prisoner taken from them.
It is this last point, losing their right to guard, that really upsets them. Of the three people groups in Realm-R tasked to guard a prisoner dragon, they were the last group to arrive and the first group to fail their whole purpose of being here. For they were taken from Earth to Realm-R with the entire purpose of guarding the Piasa. They were adapted to the world by making them less like humans and more like elves. Thus, although they could still live in the place they once called home, they feel as if they cannot. They do not deserve to live where they failed their purpose.
A very small group of their people simply see this as running away. It is this group that live in the permanent structures of Cahoika's home, layering vines upon stone and soil as an offering to the Divine Being that first brought them to Realm-R.
A few groups continued west, past the shadow tree forest and into the wildlands. One of these groups have become a recorder of flora and fauna - documenting the size of Daylillies for example. One of these groups have hidden themselves within the forest and have contracted dealings with the Shroom People to stay there. The rest travelled past the forest, past the Running Rivers and into the Wildlands and the Unknown Beyond areas of Realm-R.
The main group of Cahokians stayed next to the town of Lakamha and although they keep to themselves most of the time, they will aid the Lakamhaans when needed as thanks for both helping them battle the Piasa and lending the plains for them to live in. They won't stay in the plains forever, but there is contant debate with the Cheif and Council member about whether to return to their home in Realm-R, to roam Realm-R until their populations dwindle to zero, to merge with the Lakamhaan or to wait on their Divine Being's guidance.
