Thonisian

Thonisians are descended from the Egyptians that lived in Thonis (Heracleion), before it was flooded. Once in Realm-R, they were genetically adapted to by one of the Three Governing Angels in order to live under the ocean and have the strengths to keep the dragon, Apep, sealed. Thus, they became mermaids. Due to their modifications, they are able to have both an underwater (mermaid) and land (humanoid) form. Their skin colourings and hair stays the same, as well as the general physical size of the person, just the tail is turned to legs. They can breathe both underwater and on land. They live their lives underwater and have made a decently sized city on the ocean floor. Their city is the largest in Realm-R, boasting of the most usage of Stone Vine and the largest library. Thus, going on land is only for trade and communication purposes between the three people groups in Realm-R, the Cahokians, the Lakamhaan, and the Thonisians. It is imperative to have reliable communication between the three peoples so that the sealing of the dragons (Piasa, Kukulkan and Apep) is kept in check. Clothing is made practical for land usage and work, and fashionable for the rest of their undersea lives. There is a large collection of pearls, gems, metals and stone vine in their city and so they wear these to show off their wealth and reputations. There are fewer needs for clothing underwater, especially for males, however, jewellery, headgear, and hair accessories are often used to show prominence, career, and leisure.
