Feywood

Definition

A Feywood is a mystical forest that has been steeped in magic for centuries, existing in harmony with the world's natural magical flows and conduits. These forests serve as a nexus for the planet's arcane currents, with their flora and fauna evolving to integrate this pervasive magic into their very essence. Such enchanting environments birth what are commonly known as ''Fey'' - creatures and plants with extraordinary abilities, traits, and features.   The Feywoods not only arise naturally around these potent sources of magic but can also be cultivated by Druids through their attunement to Druidic Magic. The Fey, symbiotic with their magical habitat, seldom leave their sanctuaries, as distance from their source diminishes their powers.   The culture known as Feynarin also dwell in these forests, commonly known as Wood Elves, or Fey-people.

Description

During the day, the Feywood is a riot of life and color. Sunlight filters through the emerald canopy, refracting off the mist to cast otherworldly glows. Flowers with petals like smooth silk and leaves that shimmer with dew sparkle under the sun's caress. Trees with bark as old as time stand tall, their branches holding up the sky. Fauna of all manner, each with their unique enchantments, frolic under the protective boughs of ancient trees.   As night descends, the Feywood transforms. The forest glows with an ethereal luminescence, as if the stars themselves settled amidst the foliage. Bioluminescent mushrooms and plants become nature's lanterns, creating a landscape so serene it seems dreamt up by the fancies of slumbering deities. The creatures of the night, their eyes aglow with innate magic, navigate the twilight realm with grace, their whispers adding to the Feywood's nocturnal symphony. Here, in the Feywood, magic does not sleep; it merely changes its cloak, veiling the forest in a spectacle of nocturnal mystique.
