Use Object

Interact with a second object or use special object abilities   You can interact with one object for free during your turn (such as drawing a weapon or opening a door). If you want to interact with a second object, use this action. DM reserves the right to determine when an action is considered using an object.
When an object requires your action for its use, you also take this action.
Examples of "Use Object" that cost an action:
  • Switching a weapon during combat.
  • Using an already equipped magical item.
  • Manipulating the environment (destroying a pillar to make a roof collapse, using a rope to swing yourself across a pit)
  • Throwing an object at a creature or at environment.
Note: Potions do not cost an action.   PHB, pg. 193.
