Aspen
The most distinctive feature of the aspen tree is its leaves. The leaves are typically small and round with serrated edges, and they tremble or "quake" in the slightest breeze, creating a shimmering effect that is both beautiful and eerie. This unique characteristic has given rise to many legends and stories about the aspen tree. Aspens can grow to be quite tall, reaching up to 65 feet in height. They have smooth, pale bark that often develops dark horizontal scars and furrows as the tree ages.
