Session 10 recap - Secrets in the Dark

Valtorum Base Map Image

We last found our heroes standing over the corpse of an Orkenforge named Uraak-Kraig. While searching his hut, they found several items including a strange medallion, several candles, and his diary. With these items in hand, they decided to double back and explore the entrance of the Mournlands much further. This led them to a strange octagonal room with seven headstones arranged in a circular pattern around the room. At the center was a sarcophagus containing the relic known as the "Eye of Gond", which a Warforged known as Anvil was previously searching for. While distracted by the treasure, our heroes triggered a freezing fog that rolled through the room, barely escaping with their lives.

Not Blood, But Light

With the Eye of Gond in hand, they headed to the entrance in hopes the relic could shine some light on a strange door they had found earlier. Placing the Eye on specific pillars in front of the door they were able to open several rooms with treasure for their arsenal. The final room they were able to open was empty except for a single gold coin and a message that said:

This treasure has been claimed. -The Nobodies

Orcish Memories
While clearing out the remaining Orkenforge, our heroes found several candles in red, blue, and green which appeared to line up with the amulet Uraak-Kraig was once wearing. They headed for a darkened room built with multiple pillars adorned with strange writing on them, hoping to unlock its secrets. In the middle of the room were stairs leading to a bronze disc where they placed the candles and lit them one by one. Once completed, a massive shadowy portal emerged, beckoning them to walk closer.

Will our heroes explore the portal and unlock the secrets of the Mournlands, or will they die trying? What is the Heart Of Valtorum, and will they be able to find it before more innocent lives are lost? Who were the Nobodies, and how could they be connected to T'Larn? Find out next time on...
