Session 11 Recap - Slaughter in the Mournlands

We last found our heroes walking through a shadowy portal to the past. On the other side, they found chaos as hundreds of green orcs ran for their lives in fear of an impending attack. A mysterious orc approached them and pleaded with our heroes to fight and protect their homeland. Confused, they looked down at their hands only to reveal the entire party had been transformed into orcs. They had two choices: run or fight...they decided to reign death upon the attackers.   War drums echoed through the Mournlands as a battalion of two hundred Warforged marched upon our heroes and their orc allies. Wielding terrifying magic and powerful siege weapons our heroes pushed the attackers back, but not before the front lines were overwhelmed. Their druid, Luna, who brought down countless Warforged was brought down by a thirty-foot-tall Titan. As she took her last breath a strange construct appeared who laid a metal Orkenforge beside her body and began to cast a spell. Our heroes watched in horror as a green orb floated from Luna's body and into the metal one and as the spell completed the Orkenforge began to rise.   They awoke from the vision unharmed only to find a strange candle with writing they did not understand carved upon it. After the battle, they decided to move further north finding a large encampment of Orkenforge.
Shargaas Protect Us
After our heroes cleared the encampment of any vile Orkenforge they found more strange clay jars, which were promptly destroyed by Luna. There was a growing resemblance of civilization within the camp as they ventured further and further finding places of worship and even what appeared to be storefronts. Eventually, they found a small mineshaft that led deeper into the mountain. It opened up into a small chamber littered with the remains of the dead long forgotten. T'larn, seeking more information, cast the speak with dead spell and asked several questions of a decayed dwarf. He was not sure how his body arrived in this mineshaft, and even more mysterious he thought the year was "870 V.R".

A Peek Behind the Curtain
The crunching of bones echoed through the halls of this hallway as our heroes ventured further into the dark. While walking, Bellamy felt the cold embrace of Acererak who warned him what would happen if they continued their journey forward. He weaved a tale of death for Bellamy and his friends which caused a discussion of mistrust throughout the group. Our heroes eventually decided not to believe the Lich's warnings and sent Chk-Chk into the dark to scout ahead.   They found an advanced protection spell that was quickly solved by T'larn and her necromancy. She was able to give one last purpose to one of the hundreds of dead dwarves scattered through this hall helping to deactivate the spell that blocked their way forward. On the other side, they found a room with a massive glass cylinder filled with moving metal arms manipulating boxes. Above them, they could see rows upon rows of unmoving Orkenforge mounted on rails. T'larn decided to send her dwarven friend into the room to draw out any potential danger and was extremely successful. After getting to the end of the room, the dwarven zombie was approached by a construct who shot it twice in the head. This was the same creature they had seen take Luna's soul.   Will our heroes be able to defeat the strange construct they found in this room, or prove the prophecy of Acererak to be true? Find out next time on...
