Black Healer

Lesser Aberrants of the Ancient of Filth, specifically of the Aspect of Pestilence. Though they technically remove afflictions from a person, they are not the kind of doctor you would want as they would then transfer the amplified affliction to another victim, to usually lethal results.

These "doctors" are creatures only the very desperate or the malevolent would summon.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Black Healers have malleable bodies with dozens of hands. Each arm is at least two meters long and very thin. They usually wear robes to appear at least vaguely humanoid from a distance.
The minor resemblance to the plague doctors of the 16th and 17th centuries is not lost on Initiates and it is theorised that a non-Initiate survivor of a Black Healer encounter is the one that codified the dress code of the plague doctors based on their Censor-modified memories.

Genetics and Reproduction

A Black Healer does not appear on Earth naturally. The have to be summoned through the appropriate ritual. This is done only by the desperate or the malevolent. In the former case, this is typically someone with some sort of affliction for which they found no other solution, be it magical or mundane. In the latter case, they tend to be Cultists of Filth.

Behaviour

A Black Healer seeks out the sick and injured and removes whatever it is that inflicted the patient. This is not in fact done out of benevolence, but malevolence. The key word there is "removes", not "cures". The Black Healer stores the affliction, amplifies it, before transferring the amplified affliction to a new victim. Depending on the original affliction, death can be instantaneous and/or painful.

It should be noted that Black Healers specialize in spreading otherwise unspreadable afflictions. Physical injuries, disorders, cancers and the like falls under its purview. Infectious diseases are covered by a different Lesser Aberrant of the Aspect of Pestilence, Contagions.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Through some unknown method, a Black Healer is capable of finding patients with non-contagious afflictions.
