One of the weaker Lesser Aberrants of the Ancient of Secrets, their potential for harm is nevertheless great depending on the misinformation they spread, keeping the actual truth a secret.

Basic Information

Anatomy

They have no physical bodies, but in visual mediums of sharing information, it is not unheard off to see the actual creature. Its appearances vary, but a common trend of witness descriptions is that it is a formless being with a single eye and mouth.

Ecology and Habitats

Ideawarpers are capable of making their home in anything that can be considered a medium of information. From antique scrolls to modern computers, if it can be used to share information, an Ideawarper can infest it and warp the information in it.

Behaviour

The majority of Ideawarpers exist to spread misinformation. Being weaker aberrants, this behaviour is usually a nuisance as cross-referencing the information provided can easily negate most of the potential harm. However, there will inevitably be the occassion where the misinformation being spread drowns out critical information causing confusion to the masses.

A rare minority of Ideawarpers display divergent behaviours from the majority. Instead of spreading misinformation, they instead repackage the information in a nightmare-inducing way. The Candle Cove creepypasta story among the non-initiates is a story the Censor let through to warn of this minority of Ideawarpers. It is unknown why some Ideawarpers display this divergent behaviour, but many magical organisations make use of them.
