Boon of the Gods Spell
Boons are a powerful magic gifted unto mortals by the gods, allowing them to tap directly into a god's power. The more powerful the god, the more powerful boons they can bestow, some even allowing mortals to take on their true form directly and act in the god's place.
Effect
A boon is a powerful and highly restricted magic allowing mortals to tap into the power a god has directly. Although this varies wildly from god to god, the most common effect is tapping directly into the god's own power and making it that mortal's own for a period of time, and giving them full control over it.
Side/Secondary Effects
Often, those gifted a boon from the gods will feel drastically weakened after it fades, and crave that power once more. It can be addictive, and is often thought to be so on purpose, to keep those serving the god craving that power and thus, continuing to serve them. In those who have taken the boons of particularly volatile or violent gods, they may be stuck with the god's personality and become a danger to others.
It also has a dangerous side effect for the god that cast it, as while a mortal is using the god's power, the god will be weakened for the duration.
Manifestation
A god's divine paint appearing on a person's body is the most common way the spell manifests, and showing they hold their power. In high level boons, a mortal can take the god's own true form, essentially making them into another version of the god, both in personality and power.
