Dragontooth Spear and Spear Thrower
Mechanics & Inner Workings
The spear is most often made out of wood, animal horn, or dragon bones, making it very light and easy to carry dozens of them. The spear fits into a specialized spear-thrower made of the same materials, utilizing a small notch at one end to nestle into and be thrown at high speeds by flinging it. The spear's tip is fitted with dragon teeth pointing backwards, so it can't be easily removed without causing more damage, and causes heavy bleeding in its targets, ripping open the wound more as the target moves. Often, the opposite end of the spear is fitted with a rope or lead of some kind that is tied to a sturdy structure such as a boulder, tree, or even a vehicle or mount so that prey hit by the spear can be reeled in.
