Wellspring

Effect

This spell will transform a body of water into a magic spring that absorbs magic from the environment and infuses it into the water. Most often, these springs are used to tap into life magic for healing, used on hot springs and naturally heated ponds. Wellsprings can be made into specific kinds of springs artificially by lacing the area around them with specific magic in order to obtain the desired effect, although this method is extremely costly and requires a large amount of stored magic in order to properly set the spring.

Side/Secondary Effects

When a spring is attempted to be set by artificially lacing it with the desired form of magic, occasionally this can go wrong either due to the natural magic in the environment overpowering the introduced magic, or by combining the two sources. Springs in which this is done with conflicting magic can be volatile and cause Magical Corruption in any who attempt to bathe in, drink, or touch the water, depending on the concentration of magic.
Many artificially induced ponds can fail due to not having enough magic in the area in order to maintain themselves, eventually their beneficial and desired effects fading over time.

Discovery

This magic was the specialty of the Rivanu flight, that has been extinct since 3045. It is widely believed that this spell carried on in the Solar Dragonflight and Lunar Dragonflight.
