Drakkic
Creatures born of the ancient draconic avarice that roam the space of Oclirim. Drakkic are humanoid mortals who are descendent of such dragons. The immense adaptability of dragons give possibility for the avarice to mate and produce offspring with the many entities that inhabit the universe. These offspring have strong resemblance to the draconic progenitors but as the drakkic lineage continues further from the original avarice they lose some of their draconic traits. Like the dragons of old, every drakkic continuously grows throughout their life until they die. Gaining in size and developing new traits and abilities as they age. Unlike the avarice however, the drakkic are still mortals and their bodies can only withstand so much. Despite the elongated draconic lifespan, the more traits a drakkic develops the greater the toll it takes on their body. Eventually leading towards organ failure as their bodies become unable to sustain their abilities. The many drakkic have been divided into subgroups based on how closely related they are to their avarice progenitor. These subgroups are called high-drakkic, (common) drakkic, and low-drakkic.
Drakkic, commonly called dragonborn or dragonkin (using the Dragonborn PHB race outline), are the most common subgroup that interact with civilizations and societies. These drakkic are humanoid and covered in scales resembling their avarice projenitor. These drakkic lack the tails and wings of their ancestors, but maintain other traits such as their elemental resistance and breath weapon. As well as their head shape, hands, and feet closely resemble that of dragons. They commonly stand ranging from 6 to 8 feet tall and averaging around 250 pounds. Drakkic typically live around 200 years of age before their bodies give out. Drakkic that reach this age hit their upper limits of around 9 feet tall and 350 pounds. Additionally their shoulder and tail bones begin to protrude in their last few decades of life as their bodies begin to develop wings and tails. Unfortunately they rarely if ever live long enough for their wings and tails to completely grow.
High-drakkic are more closely related to their avarice ancestors. They maintain the humanoid stature of common drakkic, but also have more draconic traits. High-drakkic commonly have tails or wings, if not both. High-drakkic are fully functional, enabling them to fly for short distances and with training for even longer. While their tails act as a focus for their elemental ancestry. As they age, high-drakkic sometimes unlock innate magical abilties. High-drakkics are the broadest of the drakkic subgroup. Some are distinguished from common drakkic only by the fact they have tails, while others by their wings. Some high-drakkics develop both and other abilities of their avaricious ancestors. Due to the wide range of high-drakkic, their lifespans vary immensely. High-drakkics rarely die naturally before the age of 500 years and some even rival the lifespans of elves reaching around 5000 years of age. They typically reach around 9 feet tall by adulthood but continuously grow, albeit more slowly as they age. Additionally, they on average weigh around 350-400 pounds when reaching adulthood.
Low-drakkics are the most abundant of drakkic kind. Their avarice ancestors are so distant they split in their own racial species. Over generations, drakkic lineages slowly split off into kobolds and goblinoids. Drakkic that stick to their own clans eventually become kobolds. Whereas those that interbreed with other species off-shoot into the various goblinoid races. Kobolds retain some of the traits of their drakkic ancestors, but to a much more limited degree. They continue physically growing as they age, but their lifespans average only around 90 years. As they age, kobolds sometimes develop the elemental abilities of their ancestors. They rarely live long enough to develop anything further than a breath weapon, but the strongest of kobolds have been known to manipulate some of their elemental ancestry. The goblinoid side of low-drakkic have all but lost the traits of their drakkic ancestors. That is save for their trait of hoarding, that only seems to have increased.
