She lost her mother and siblings in the Sacking of Coruscant when their tower block fell on top of them and crushed them. She escaped by being on call to fight on the surface at the time, as the only family member with military training.
Her father survived in the rubble alone for weeks, sustained by air filtration machines and eventually rescued by hazard droids, the bodies of his wife and children directly in his limited sightline. Since then, he has worshiped machines and droids as the life-sustaining rulers of Coruscant. She sends most of her pay back home to him, but suspects he spends most of it on machine maintenance, not on his own living expenses.
