Bluepaw Monkey

Bluepaws are black-furred monkeys about the size of a shadowcat. They are found throughout much of the former Holy Country, as well as to the west in Maniria. The center of their population is the Arstola Forest. Urban monkeys are common in Esrolian cities, where they are scavengers rather than canopy-dwellers.

Bluepaws roam in troops of ten to twenty monkeys, led by an adult male. Their young reach maturity at about two years of age. These monkeys generally avoid humans, but become aggressive if humans harm their young or intrude on their feeding grounds. Swarms of several troops sometimes drive farmers away from ripe orchards, stealing as much fruit as they can before the pests are scared away by the mustered locals.
