OSAD Session 14 - Summer Fayre
General Summary
Rose reluctantly tells the party about Dustin's request that they investigate Wymond Hurst, the host of the fayre as well as some of the activities he has been engaged in.
The party arrives at the fayre, a sprawling event of many fantastic events and sights. The party takes part in a game of archery and Ella fights with Godswick Brooke in a dual. Godswick is unhappy with his swift defeat.
They also watch a puppet show and then a play about the party, created by two twins, both performances filled with errors and exaggeration.
Lor experiences a vision while traversing the event, of the former Gold Warden, making his way through the crowds at The Summer Fayre.
Wanting to try and spot the man, the party looks for a vantage point and tries to use a balcony in Wymond Hurst's hold. They enter Wymond's hall and speak with the man, receiving a rude and dismissive tone from him. Eventually, he allows the trio to use the balcony but has his men watch.
The party spots their stalker from the balcony and heads down to confront the assassin, leaving Lana to watch over Aster while the spider tries to take a look at some lords.
The party catches up and captures the Gold Warden, named Rainn, without causing a scene and takes him aside within an illusion exhibit to interrogate him.
After some threats and persuasion, Rainn breaks and says he only agreed to kill the prince as his family is being held hostage.
The party finds out that Finnian Beckett and Wymond Hurst are working together and that the two have been behind the rise in racism, as well as their allies holding immense power. He also says that The Mountain King will be arriving soon, to deal with the party and make an example of them.
The party leaves the tent. Aimee receives a letter from Lana saying she has returned home. Soon afterward, the party receives a gift from the twins; a small box with a finger, with a ring Aimee recognizes as belonging to her brother. One of the twins says: "The Mountain King sends his regards".
