All-Existence and All-Nothing
Existence.
At the base of all experience is existence. Without it, nothing else could matter. Nothing else could be.
In the beginning of everything, there was absolute nothingness. No life. No matter. No void.
Called the All-Nothing, this complete and utter nonexistence was all there was. Nothing stirred within it for there was nowhere to stir. Only ideas existed, separate from the All-Nothing yet held captive by it simultaneously, for they could not apply themselves without something to apply themselves to.
However, this state could not last forever for in order for there to be absolutely nothing, there must be 'something' to compare it to.
As such, slowly, gradually, by the sheer grinding and absolute nature of All-Nothing's very lack of anything, 'something' began to grow.
It was small, a spark that floundered in the sheer nothingness it was captured in. Yet, nurtured by the basest of concepts and ideas, it began to mature and develop. Time began to tick once there were changing elements to track. Light and shadow danced between the steadily developing layers of realities that were yet to be. And, life, both divine and mortal, emerged once there were experiences to be fostered and had.
This fragile 'something' is the All-Existence, the complete encompassment of all reality and its infinite layers.
However, existence is difficult. Though the universes within the All-Existence thrive, there is always the threat of the All-Nothing.
It is the possibility of stagnation. The real chance that the growth of infinity may lead back to complete entropy and a return to the concept that was, is, and shall be.
The All-Nothing, much like the All-Existence, is not a malicious thing. It simply is.
And All-Existence will always strive to prevent its return.
For there to be something there must be nothing. And nothing... is absolute.
This has a feel of philosophy and poetry. Very nice.
Glad you like it! I tried to put some serious thought into the structure of my universe, and this concept was one that I settled on. Thanks for reading it and leaving a comment!
