The Drop

When it comes to entering Refuge, there is only one consistently confirmed way to do so though it cannot be called upon at will. Called "The Drop", this is when people, animals, or things are cast into the tides of the multiverse only to eventually land in the endless plane known as Refuge. Seeming to happen at random, no one is sure what happens in the universe where the creatures or objects come from, only that they can no longer go back.
Whatever the case may be, two things are certain. Those who travel through "The Drop" are likely to be changed by the experience and they always end up in Refuge. Coinciding with the Law of Memories, it is possible for those cast into the void to experience physical and, rarely, mental changes depending on which region they end up within Refuge.

Manifestation

Manifesting differently for every individual, the sensation of traveling through the multiverse has been described as occurring in a multitude of ways, including floating through a universe of static, seeing everything around them fading away into a pinprick of light that rushes up to meet them, and being subject to a variety of different sensations including intense heat and cold at the same time while flashes of lives unlived flowed around them. What is common throughout each of these manifestations, however, is the feeling of falling. This is why the sensation is often called "The Drop".

Localization

None are quite sure as to what exactly causes these "Drops" other than the fact that when they occur, a universe essentially "forgets" the pieces of itself that experience the Drop. So far the limits of this "forgetting" are not well understood but it can range from single individuals to entire regions of land.
