Do Temple

Shadows and secrets are the currency of Do Temple. Set in a mountainous ravine that leads down into a small inlet, the temple itself is almost impossible to find by foot. This is intentional, as its sole purpose is to house, train, and mold new members into the Edict of Shadow. Little is known about this Edict or the temple itself, save for the fact that its members are entirely made up of Ainu due to its location on the island of Okinawa.

Construction

High in the mountains of southern Okinawa, the temple's complex is almost like a labyrinth. The few who have been granted access to the temple speak of defensible, tight corridors that only hold one man abreast at most. Rooms are spartan, with the most decoration only given to the number of shrines the temple holds not only to the Boshi bound to its kaminoha, but to a variety of Ainu legends as well.   The main shrine is somewhat spacious, lit only by a single ever-burning torch that lets the shadows of the dais below flicker across the room to the supernaturally smooth walls. At certain times of day, the shadows creep up the sides of the wall and can almost be seen to dance by an observer. This goes doubly so for the shadow of anyone within the room, and those who have seen it have felt a profoundly uncomfortable sensation crawling up their back if they remained too long.

Culture

What little is known about the culture of Do Temple is that its people are secretive, quiet, and hard-working. Worship is a private affair rather than one to be joined by others. Even less is known about their kaminoha, and the temple itself does not seem to offer any services to the few mountain villages within days' travel. Not that those villages would know where to go if they wished of it.

History

Nothing is known of the history of the temple. Even its founder, who must have been a part of the great founding three centuries ago, is unknown to the world at large.
