The Miasma

The miasma is an otherworldly hazard that has spread through a planar rift into the world of Reisseah. It manifests as a purplish-black mist or fog that spreads. It is considered deadly to the races of man while being comforting to the Fallen Races. Once someone of the Races of Man encounters the miasma it can take ahold of their system acting like a disease or illness and slowly eat away at them from the inside, almost making them decompose from the inside out.

Prevention

Do not enter areas where the miasma has erupted into the world. Covering one's mouth with a cloth soaked in vinegar is widely considered to help prevent the miasma from taking hold in a person.
