First Ambassador of Earth

The rank of First Ambassador of Earth was created in 2074, upon the beginning of the Public War. It was effectively a battlefield promotion for the first First Ambassador, with the rank created on the spot without any legal precedence for remit or responsibilities; just the brief to represent Earth during a crisis to the best of their ability.
As the war continued, legislation was passed and the Embassy Office of Earth was created by the United Nations. The First Ambassador rank's responsibilities and jurisdiction was set out, with provision made for eventual appointment of other Ambassadors of Earth that would be sent to other planets. The First Ambassador would be based on Earth.
