Zartriites is an umbrella term for all the sapients who were genetically engineered by the Solar Triad.

History

All Zartriites and Zartrizoas were created by the Solar Triad using zarkyst-powered genetic engineering in the mid-21st century.
The Triad's experiments and the first generation of the species were discovered by Hugh Larsson Cassidy-Smith, who shut down the program, took the genetically-engineered creations back in time and found them safe habitats, where they lived and grew hidden from the majority of the human race for centuries. The exception was the zombies, who remained in the twenty-first century under scientific study. A vaccine and later cure for zombieism were developed before the end of the century.
In the early 22nd century, knowledge of the zartri species became public, and many Zartriites came out of hiding. However attitudes to them varied hugely and it was not until nearly a century later that every type of Zartriites were widely accepted in human society. A new equality act was passed in 2197, which paved the way for the Alpazoi and Oaschi peoples to make official contact with (the rest of) Earth's peoples.
