Purpose / Function

To educate the sons and daughters of the Apex elite in all the arts nessecary to rule either a merchant empire or a republic. The Academy also serves as a prime ground for young members of the elite to meet each other and make connections that will benefit them in their future. The Academy is also attended by many foreign students who seek the same things as the native Apex students.

Alterations

The original academy was originally a rather small complex built by the Ordering to house and teach Guardians stationed in Apex Province. When the experimental republic was established the complex was appropriated and expanded for use as a teaching institution for the wealthy. The campus has been expanded continuously since the 12th century. By now it is a sprawling town unto itself, with living quarters for students and teachers, servants quarters, offices, shops, restaurants and cafes, auditoriums, libraries, schoolrooms, and so on.

Architecture

The building is a mix of many styles. The oldest building as built in Ordering style, newer buildings are built in whatever style was in vogue at the time.
