Anomenath is an extreme rarity: a redeemed ultroloth. Like all of his people, he is magically powerful, highly intelligent, and impressively charismatic, but he turns these abilities to good ends rather than personal enrichment.

Personal history
In 23 ARL, our protagonists first found Anomenath imprisoned in an annihilation lantern above the drow city that would become New Hallownest, where he had been trapped for a very long time. The adventuring party spoke with him and decided to free him.
Anomenath has largely made himself scarce since then, but he did return in September of that year as a favor to Knight, helping Knight and his party exorcise the demon lord Veragas the Unclean after Zolsikar ate him (by holding Zolsikar down while the party fought the demon lord's consciousness in a dream) and subsequently assisting against an army of yellow formians to the southeast.

Anomenath was rescued from endless imprisonment by Knight and several other adventurers. He and the adventurers will readily assist each other under most circumstances.
