Material Characteristics

In its raw form, mithril is a silver and black mineral. After forging, it becomes a shining silvery blue.

Physical & Chemical Properties

Mithril can be worked like steel, but items made from mithril are half the weight of equivalent items made from steel. This makes mithril an excellent material for armor, as it causes less encumbrance to the wearer and is less likely to obstruct arcane spellcasting.
