Shark Mask

An oversized mask in the shape of a shark's head, made from a man-sized tooth of a giant megalodon. A veil hangs from the rear of the mask and covers part of the wearer's back.   When donned, the mask melds with its wearer and grants them the form of a shark, with the precise appearance and some additional powers depending on the wearer. The wearer can will the mask off again to remove it.

History

The Shark Mask was created from the tooth of a colossal megalodon in the service of the Indan god Agni. The tooth was retrieved from the beast's corpse by Knight and brought to the artificer Mithangor in hopes that he would be able to make something interesting with it. A week or two later, Mithangor handed the Shark Mask back. It's been with Knight ever since.

Shark Mask

Mask, magical

Description: An oversized bone mask in the shape of a shark head with a veil falling from the back.
Item Properties and Details: When donned, the mask melds with the wearer and transmutes them and their equipment into a sharklike form. The form varies by wearer, but is usually about 15 feet long and shaped like a small great white or really big tiger shark. The wearer can will the mask off again to remove it, returning them and their equipment to normal.   While in shark form, the wearer has a swim speed of 60. They cannot wield weapons and cannot attack normally, instead gaining two attacks per turn (which can be affected by haste) that hit and deal damage as if they were the wearer's weapon of choice, with the exception that they have a base damage of 6d6 in place of the weapon's normal base damage. On a critical hit with one of these attacks, the wearer may swallow their target whole.   Some special abilities may work differently while the user is in shark form. An effect that would normally produce a conical blast above the user may instead generate the blast as a line from the shark form's mouth. The details are up to the DM's discretion.
