Brainstorming Big Bugs
Insect Overview: Insects mutated by the spores or engineered bigger. Often have high protein flesh, have claws and stingers, and have tough carapace that can be refashioned into insect carapace armor. Some have nectar or pheromones which can be used to enhance humans, often in the charisma department.

Plasma Rot Fly: Flies that fire plasma balls essentially. Likely only for higher level and more advanced versions of said fly. Normally, it would fire its larvae at a victim, which burrow into the flesh and begin to feast. Should the target die or already be dead, a nest will begin to form. Certain monsters can resist the Rot Fly colonization for a time before keeling over from having its body eaten from around it.
Higher Level Rot Flies often have infested stronger corpses, such as glowing monsters of sorts or even just the right kind of waste. While their young don't often survive, being hit with what amounts to hot plasma balls is incredibly painful, and even worse if the larvae manage to burrow into the victim.
Probably have some form of bioplasma, to be explained later. To feed, Plasma Flies reduce their food to a sort of plasma it can ingest and derive nutrition from.
They have powerful muscles to launch their weaponized larvae.
Fungal Ant Symbiosis: A large ant or ant-like insectoid creature that has evolved alongside a special form of fungus. This fungus is rarely if ever found outside this creature's territory.
Mutant Spider: A giant spider or something that produces silk that can be used as a bandage. Probably likes to store bodies to eat at their leisure, probably uses a venom composed of digestive juices with a touch of pheromones to attract the packs, be it other spiders or other animals in general.
Battlequeens: This ant or other giant mutated insect is constantly hungry, scouring areas to eat and feed its brood. Its advantage is instead of larger more sedentary egglaying queens, these smaller but more mobile queens can keep up with its own army.
Enslaved Queen: This Queen insect has been imprisoned by raiders to be used as food and soldiers. The raiders bring the queen insect food and clean after it, while taking its young to be either eaten or used for their own purposes.
